Answering a devastating cry for relief...
According to the World Health Organization, the global healthcare worker shortage is over 4.3 million.
In 57 countries, 36 of which are in Sub-Saharan Africa, chronic shortages combined with nursing emigration turnover profoundly undermine efforts to improve maternal health, decrease child mortality rates, and fight the advance of diseases like HIV.
The Gretta Foundation
Our mission is to increase the global “Nurseforce” by providing full nursing scholarships to impoverished persons living in disease-burdened nations.
Nursing scholarship recipients, or Gretta Scholars, attend in-country nursing programs. In repayment for the scholarship assvistance, graduating scholars serve for a predetermined period of time in their country’s clinics and hospitals.
